Loi Khrathong festival

The Loi Krathong festival is the second most important Buddhist festival. The first is without any doubts the Thai New Year, also known as Songkran. During this festival, we pay merits to the water spirits, celebrate the end of the monsoon season and the beginning of new rice growing cycles. It is also the opportunity to float a Krathong. This is a small boat made of recycled materials, that we'll float peacefully on water, before releasing a lantern into the sky while making a wish.
